by Found Natural Goods Founder and Curator, Jacqueline Smith
Typically, I'll blog before an event I'm attending as a maker, or especially, as a Producer. Not weeks after. But, this year, it was a bit nutty leading up to our outdoor event, INTO the WOODS Holiday Market! Logistics were abundant and it absolutely paid off––as it was so damn successful––for everyone involved.
It was a lot of fun, and pretty magical––not a word I use very often––under the twinkle lights in our heated wedding tent, hot bourbon apple cider cocktails in-hand, endless hugs and friendly faces coming down to support both days, Christmas shopping wrapped and done, and new makers matched for Found Natural Goods (new objects launching soon!).
At this market, I took a unique approach and brought new inventory into my booth space––offering more than what's online: organic beauty products, handmade jewelry, and beeswax candles (which sold before I could get them to the event––to a woman who came over to buy a rug on craigslist none-the-less). I also brought down new scrap metal succulent sculptures made in collaboration with papa Larry, eco-home goods, and the newest category; one-of-a-kind gems. This category is where I feel like I can play a bit more, and bring found objects I adore, to you.
Thank you to everyone for being so positive, helpful, interested, and supportive of local makers and artists. Until next year! xo
Oh yes, and––due to the high foot traffic––we made the news!
